Cryptowall is a trojan horse that infects a compromised machine and encrypts personal files requiring payment be submitted in order to decrypt them. Be sure to keep an eye out for suspicious files titled “Help_Your_Files” or files with random names like “27p9k967z.x1nep” or “9242on6c.6la9”.
